Friends of Nevada Wilderness is teaming up with the Sierra Club for a night of Defending The Desert.

You are invited to the Sierra Club's Las Vegas office to learn about public lands issues in Southern Nevada including the proposed military land withdrawal from the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. We will also discuss strategy on how to keep more public lands in public hands. It is by individual effort that the areas we enjoy and recreate within are protected for further generations.

This is night is intended to make attendees aware of certain political and organizational procedures that lead to land protections and inform them on what they can do to get involved. Signing petitions and forwarding information is a simple and free way to get started. We will show you just how important those little steps are to winning the tug-o-war over public lands.
