Wilderness Stewards Healing and Caring for the
Land
Friends of Nevada Wilderness organizes
and leads trips to help restore and protect our wilderness
areas. Working together, volunteers like you can heal damage
from illegal vehicle use, remove weeds, install signs, talk with
other visitors, and soak up the beauty.
Heal the Land - Become a Wilderness Steward
Join us on one of the many wilderness
trips throughout the state. Volunteers get to camp out and work
with others to heal our wild places. These trips are fun,
rewarding and can be a great way to meet new Friends. All volunteers are
welcome! Every trip offers opportunities to contribute in less
physically-demanding ways, such as: taking photos, writing and reporting, or just
enjoying the beauty of wilderness. See the
events calendar at right. Click here for all upcoming trips.
Do you like exploring on your own?
Do you have a favorite area? Would you
like to adopt a wild place and become its guardian on the
ground? All you have to do is visit your adopted wilderness a
few times each year - on your own schedule. You'll get to know
its hidden side and report to us if something seems wrong or out
of place. Or celebrate its wildness with stories and photos to
share with others on our website. Call, we’ll help get you
started. (775) 324-7667.
Here is a short form to keep track of
what you see on your trips. Fill it out and return it to us –
it’s that easy!
A
portion of our restoration work on Forest Service wilderness
lands is supported by the National Forest Foundation.
