Area Description

The Nellis Wash Wilderness is a flat bajada sloping gently south from the Sheep Range. It is highly eroded, creating a deeply rutted but uniform terrain. Located at the north end of Las Vegas Valley, it is cut by roads into three smaller areas. Elevations rise to 2,789 feet

Creosote bush scrub

Fauna
Horned lizard, greater roadrunner, crissal thrasher and cactus wren.

Threatened Species
Desert tortoise lives here, within the Piute-Eldorado Valley Desert Tortoise ACEC
