The Southern Nevada Team of Friends of Nevada Wilderness is so grateful to the dedicated volunteers who help us accomplish our stewardship and outreach goals.  2013 was a great year for volunteer participation, from both new and returning volunteers.  Southern Nevada's Wilderness saw 490 volunteers donate 4008 hours totaling In-Kind donations of over $96,000.  The work they did was invaluable to help protect our Wilderness.  The land managers, fellow visitors and plants and animals that call these areas home are all grateful for their work. It's important to us that we celebrate our volunteers and say "Thank you!" 

Join us for our Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on Saturday May 3rd at Mountain Crest Park on Durango and Lone Mountain from 12:30 to 2:30; feel free to pop in when you can.  We will provide burgers with all the fixin's, water and refreshments and dutch-oven style desserts.  This is a potluck style picnic with a salsa competition so please bring a dish or a salsa, or both!  We are excited to offer raffle prizes, Wilderness games and most importantly, volunteer awards!
